Straighten your teeth with orthodontic treatment!
Have you ever thought of improving your smile by straightening your teeth? The dentists and team at Rainbow Dental Centre are trained to treat patients who need help correcting misalignment, or crooked teeth, gaps between the teeth and dental crowding by using orthodontics. Orthodontic treatment options include fixed braces, which are bonded to the teeth for the duration of treatment, as well as removable aligners which are to only be removed when the patient is eating or drinking.
Types of Orthodontic Treatment
- Fixed braces. Fixed braces are fixed to the teeth with composite bonding material. An arch wire is then affixed to the braces with elastics to facilitate the movement of the teeth. These archwires are replaced every 4-6 weeks until the desired movement is achieved.
- Removable aligners (Invisalign). Removable aligners are changed every 2 weeks to allow for the teeth to slowly move into position. Removable aligners must be worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day, only being removed when the patient is eating or drinking. Treatment is specific to the individual’s needs and may include 20-40 sets of trays.
